INVITATION FOR SHORT-TERM CONSULTANCY

  • Position: Project Technical Expert – Regional Workshop Facilitator
  • Project Title: Renewable Energy for Sustainable Transformation of Rural Economy (RESTORE)
  • Location: Monduli District & Babati District, Tanzania
  • Duration: 2-day workshop in each of the district, with follow-up reporting to be completed within two weeks of the event

The Renewable Energy for the Sustainable Transformation of the Rural Economy (RESTORE) project, which seeks to harness renewable energy solutions to enhance economic opportunities in Tanzania’s rural communities, is inviting interested parties to apply for a short-term consultancy role as Project Technical Expert – Regional Workshop Facilitator.

The project aims to improve income and employment opportunities for vulnerable rural households through the use of climate-friendly and energy-efficient technologies. As part of this initiative, a regional workshop will be organized to present the results of a needs analysis, engage stakeholders, and establish strategic partnerships between local businesses, technology providers, and financial institutions. The workshop is essential for promoting the adoption of sustainable energy solutions and fostering the participation of Tanzania’s rural population in the country's economic growth

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and facilitate the regional workshop focusing on the dissemination of energy-efficient technologies.
  • Present the findings from the needs analysis, ensuring alignment between technology providers and end-users.
  • Engage stakeholders, including local businesses, technology providers, and financial institutions, to build strategic partnerships.
  • Provide guidance on renewable energy solutions, with an emphasis on practical application for rural communities.
  • Foster discussion and knowledge exchange among participants to ensure the relevance and applicability of proposed energy-efficient solutions.
  • Promote financial inclusion and stability through discussions on funding and financial mechanisms related to renewable energy adoption.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in facilitating workshops and training programs, particularly in the renewable energy or sustainable development sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of renewable energy solutions, energy-efficient technologies, and their implementation in rural settings.
  • Experience working with low-income households, small businesses, and community enterprises.
  • Strong background in fostering strategic partnerships between various stakeholders, including technology providers, local businesses, and financial institutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Fluency in English and Swahili (spoken and written).

LOCATIONS: The regional workshop will be held in the following eight project locations:

  • Monduli District: Selela, Majengo, Esilalei, Sepeko Wards
  • Babati District: Endakiso, Magara, Nkaiti, Mwada Wards
