Job Description

We are looking to you to direct, coordinate, and exercise functional authority for the planning, organisation, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects.

The role can be based at any of our EMEA manufacturing sites, including UK (West Yorkshire), Spain (Terrassa), Italy (Lombardy), Germany (Krefeld) and Sweden (Helsingborg).

Principal duties:

  • Plan and formulate engineering approach and organize project team
  • Manage Engineering Project team(s), internal or external.
  • Assign project team members to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.
  • Assist Project Managers with providing engineer estimates, work scopes, etc. for civil engineering aspects on other prjects.
  • Review design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Be responsible for maintaining corporate engineering standards.
  • Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Demonstrate behaviors that safety and compliance is a critical aspect of this role.
  • Develop project scopes, estimates and appropriation documents.
  • Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • 10%-25% travel will be expected.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • A few years of experience working in the chemical industry
  • Ability to work well under pressure and be able to multi-task in a dynamic business environment with strict deadlines.
  • Strong customer focus and experience in implementing capital projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Strong Microsoft office skills (Excel, Project, etc.).
  • Ability to read a P&ID and PFDs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification in a related subject matter (PE, PMP, etc.).
  • Demonstrated competitive drive and strong orientation for results and achievement.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and strong presence in interactions with others.
  • Demonstrated skills in clear communication and presentation.
