PalmPay is a Pan-African fintech company currently operating in Nigeria, and Ghana, and expanding to other markets in 2023. We’re reinventing the payment experience by making it easy and reliable for everyone to get financial services (Merchant Acquiring, Digital Lending, etc.).

The Product Manager, Merchant Acquiring will be responsible for developing merchant product among Key Businesses (Chain Stores, restaurants, Supermarkets, FMCG, Pharmacy, Betting, eCommerce, etc.).

The ideal candidate will be apt to build strong product cases and relationships with key merchants and will be able to identify client demands to promote the organization’s solution and achieve mutual satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define the scope and requirements for the Merchant Acquiring Product, and build a roll-out plan (POS, MMO Payment), which includes market research, handling issues, and managing the products & systems.
  • Act as the primary product manager to PalmPay’s service providers including MMO, Banks, PSPs, Switches, and OEM manufacturers.
  • Manage PalmPay POS device specifications, customizations, testing, and onboarding process.
  • Develops and document policies and procedures to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations.
  • Ensures that project goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
  • Work with internal team to increase user experience of product & services.
  • Monitoring the Rules and Regulations regarding POS product, card transactions and electronic payments.

Qualification & Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, and other social sciences.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience, including 2+ years of POS product manager experience in Banks, PSPs, MMOs, and OEM manufacturers.
  • Great knowledge of financial institutions, bank operations, electronic payment processing flows, and the financial networks for processing preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills internally or externally.
  • Keen attention to detail, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Must understand ISO 8583 Financial messages.
  • English must be working level.
  • Provide outstanding customer service.
