Job Overview
As a Procurement Officer at Dark Earth Carbon, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing the goods and services required to support our operations. You will evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure the timely delivery of goods and services while managing inventory levels to optimize cost savings and efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
1. Sourcing and purchasing goods and services required by the organization.
2. Evaluating suppliers and negotiating contracts and prices.
3. Ensuring timely delivery of goods and services in accordance with project timelines and company requirements.
4. Maintaining accurate records of purchases and contracts.
5. Track inventory levels, identify stock shortages, and recommend cost-effective purchasing solutions.
6. Collaborating with various internal departments to understand their procurement needs and align purchasing strategies with company goals.
7. Staying informed about market trends, pricing changes, and potential new suppliers
8. Working on additional tasks handed over to you by your manager.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field for advertised job
2. At least 1–2 years of experience in procurement or a related role. Experience in biochar or the agricultural industry is a plus but not required.
3. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the capability to lead training sessions.
4. Analytical abilities, with attention to detail especially when evaluating systems and processes
5. Strong attention to detail when evaluating suppliers, contracts, and inventory data to make informed decisions.
6. Self-driven with the capacity to make well-informed decisions.
7. Proficiency in Swahili and English is essential
