JOB DETAILS:
JOB SUMMARY:
• We are looking for experienced counsellors who are able to offer psychological support in a non-judgemental way that promotes effective working performance exclusively for employees across Tanzania.
• The counsellors have to be able to deliver counselling, advice and support remotely through voice calls or video calls as requested by employees.
• We will provide remote working facilities such as Broadband, Laptop (video camera) installed with a secure and private online software to promote confidence for our callers.
• Understanding of likely employment challenges and the role of Occupational health advisory will be beneficial.
• Opportunity for specialised training as part of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) will be supported including graduating from a British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) accredited course.
• Opportunity for Peer Supervision as well as 1 to 1 supervision will be afforded.
• Working towards maintaining membership with BACP.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To promote our Counselling and Advisory service to employees across Tanzania, through online, social media as well as by undertaking short presentations to both employees and employers in person.
• To manage happyjobs.co.tz, the first online platform which works with our sponsoring employers and offers fast-track counselling and advice to placed candidates who gain employment through the platform.
• To deliver counselling to any employee who contacts happyjobs.co.tz at point of need.
• To manage and be efficient in promoting high counselling numbers per day delivered within standardised protocols.
• Working towards British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy accreditation.
• Giving a structured advice and support to employees requiring practical and pragmatic interventions to minimise stress in the workplace with the support of our Occupational Health Lead.
• Regular use of scales such as PHQ-9 and HAD scales in identifying employees with deteriorating mental health requiring early psychiatric interventions with the support of Psychiatry lead.
REQUIREMENTS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
• Batchelor of Science (BSc) in Psychology or related fields or Postgraduate qualification (MSc) in the same.
• Familiarity in symptoms and signs of mental illness.
• Experience in Counselling work for a minimum of 2 years.
• Demonstrable passion for Counselling including roles and activities beyond paid employment.
• Good communication skills
• Computer literacy and ability to update with training
