About Us
SEMA in partnership with Stromme Foundation (SF) is implementing the Enhanced Livelihoods through Commercial Agricultural Production (ELCAP) Project in Singida region Tanzania. The project overall goal is to sustainably improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers, their households and other value-chain stakeholders through enhanced income generation, novel biochar formulation value chains, market linkages, private sector partnerships and job creation.
SEMA is one of SF's implementing partners in Tanzania. SEMA has built relationships and trust with the local communities and with government officials needed to sustainably implement programmes. They have experience with building CMSGs and therefore have the capacity to quickly adapt the model to target smallholder farmers through SPGs.

Job Summary:
The Communication and Marketing Officer- ELCAP will implement all aspects of the ELCAP program in Singida Region, Tanzania. She/he will be required to apply a wide variety of livelihood development tools and approaches to catalyse innovative services and facilitate linkages between market actors in the assigned programme area. The Communication and Marketing Officer will work directly with Program Manager at SEMA and collaborate with the Agribusiness Specialist who will provide technical guidance and work objectives. The Communication and Marketing Officer- ELCAP has the overall responsibility for the support in project development, promotion, and growth of ELCAP’s livelihoods activities (these include but not limited to the following: - Community Managed Saving Groups, Gender and Disability inclusion, Innovation and adoption of new technologies, Green Economy Practices, Food Security, Life skills training, linking commercial villages to market actors, BDS providers and other Credit plus activities, in Tanzania.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Jointly with the relevant staff to ensure timely and quality completion of all ECLAP activities including procurement and distribution of inputs.
• Communicate and Market the demonstrations and learning plots on CSA practices for adoption by small holder farmers.
• Identify and brand the value-addition opportunities that strengthen economic opportunities, especially for young women and rural youth, in the agriculture sectors as identified by local and national government as well as independent market studies and needs assessments.
• Participate in the Organization resource mobilization and preparation of the SEMA’s annual reports and proposal.
• Establish and maintain good coordination and working relationships with district leaders and local government departments.
• Participate in the planning of learning events, exhibits, workshops that bring private and public sector entities together to collectively review and discuss technology developments and innovation.
• Support all efforts towards accountability, specifically to direct program participants, engaging them as equal partners in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of our field activities.
• Working with the Program Manager to create a marketing strategy and mapping out the tasks needed to implement the strategies.
• Collaborating with other project staff to create advertising content for the project development to create more demand of the project in the region.

Qualification and Experience.
The ideal candidate for the Communication and Marketing Officer Post must hold a degree or its equivalent in business, management, marketing, or a related field.

Experience:
• She/he must have a minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
• Prior experience in planning and facilitating trainings.
• Experience with project management theory and best practices.
• Excellent organizational, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Prior experience working with and or saving groups. Familiarity with life skills and/or financial literacy skills is preferable.
• Strong organizational and planning skills, including the ability to monitor progress of program implementation.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously and take initiative.
• Prior success working closely and building relationships with diverse groups of people.
• Desire and ability to spend a quarter or more time traveling and providing direct support
• to smaller farmers
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• Fluency in the local language.
• English fluency.
• Experience with market facilitation, supporting systemic change and promoting supporting services indirectly is preferred, knowledge and experience in business financing for MSME’s.
• Strong writing, communication, organization, prioritization and negotiating skills.
• Excellent (English) verbal and written communication skills with proven financial management skills.
• Must have a minimum of three years documented working experience in training savings and credit groups, business development skills, food security or related fields.
• Have a dynamic personality with a sense of initiative, good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant personal experience with the green economy programming promoting youth green entrepreneurs, digital financing, and working commercial villages.
• Conversant with digital tools (including monitoring tools) and workflows. Familiarity with principles and practice of savings-led microfinance strong data analysis background and familiar with VSLA MIS.
• Experience working with poor communities on development matters, environment management and gender change, disability inclusion, anti-corruption, advocacy, governance, gender equality and children rights is added advantage.
• Good report writing and presentation skills.
