Job DescriptionJob Title: Email Migration Specialist – On-Premise to Microsoft 365 (465 to 500 Mailboxes)Location: RemoteWork Timings: PST business HoursProject Type: Contract / Project BasisProject Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled Email Migration Specialist to lead and execute the remote migration of approximately 465 on-premise mailboxes to Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in planning, executing, and supporting medium-to-large scale email migrations with a focus on minimal downtime and maximum user satisfaction.Key Responsibilities:Assess existing on-premise email infrastructure and recommend a detailed migration plan.Prepare the Microsoft 365 environment for mailbox migration, including user licensing, permissions, and mailbox provisioning.Execute mailbox migration using native Microsoft tools (e.g., Exchange Admin Center, PowerShell) and/or third-party tools such as BitTitan or Quest Migration Manager.Configure DNS records (MX, SPF, Autodiscover) to complete mail flow transition.Manage and monitor migration batches, reporting on progress and issues.Address pre- and post-migration user issues such as Outlook profile setup, mobile device reconfiguration, and mailbox performance.Ensure secure, compliant, and efficient data transfer throughout the project lifecycle.Document the entire migration process, including configuration settings, procedures, and post-migration steps.Provide knowledge transfer and post-migration support for a defined period (e.g., 2 weeks).Requirements:Proven experience with on-premise to Microsoft 365 Exchange Online migrations.Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 services, Exchange Online, and Active Directory.Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation and migration management.Experience with hybrid configurations and tools such as Azure AD Connect (if applicable).Familiarity with DNS configuration for email services.Experience using third-party migration tools like BitTitan, SkyKick, or Quest is a plus.Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-203, MS-100, MS-101) preferred.Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting.Deliverables:Detailed migration plan and schedule.Seamless migration of 465 mailboxes to Microsoft 365 with minimal user disruption.Final report including migration logs and verification.User guides and post-migration documentation.Defined post-migration support and handover to internal IT team.
