What we are looking for

The Mechatronics Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of electromechanical systems, able to work within demanding timeframes and develop original, practical solutions to problems.

What does the job involve

  • Responsible for the digitalization of reports.
  • Responsible for process flow redesign and implementation.
  • Responsible for identifying efficiency gaps and implementing measures to address them.
  • Responsible for automation of the production process.
  • Responsible for all maintenance assignments for mechanical equipment, power equipment, air compression equipment, and electrical & electronic equipment in the plant.
  • Conduct timely fault diagnosis and repair on mechanical and electrical systems in the plant following a root cause analysis to prevent repetitive failures.
  • Minimize machinery downtime by carrying out preventative planned maintenance.
  • Lead and supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of milling and professing equipment.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with engineering and service contractors to ensure projects are implemented to specifications and on time.
  • Coordinate with external service providers in the design and implementation of mechanical and electrical systems in the plant.
  • Be an authority regarding engineering codes compliance, power distribution, industrial automation, and other electrical systems.
  • Champion safety in the plant and advise the production team on the usability and safety of the equipment.
  • Periodically collect data and analyze the performance of existing processes/equipment to identify waste, redundancy, and other operational inefficiencies and recommend viable solutions, including the need for new equipment.
  • In charge of maintaining the log files for all production equipment and their spare parts to analyze their performance/efficiency history.
  • Oversee the procurement and security of parts inventory for the maintenance of the milling and processing plant.
  • Track and control maintenance budget for the plant.
  • Collaborate with other teams (including external parties) to ensure plant service and maintenance is done on time and as scheduled.
  • Advise management on maintenance, cost management, production efficiency, and other matters related to milling and processing.

Qualifications

 

  • Degree in Mechatronics Engineering or Electrical & Electronic Engineering from a recognized and accredited engineering program.
  • 5 to 10 years experience in engineering practice.
  • Proficiency in an engineering design software such as AutoCAD.
