By identifying strategic partners, securing funding, and designing implementation plans, they are shaping the future of the BPO and IT services sector and empowering youth to thrive in this dynamic industry.

As a Manager of Digitally Traded Services, your role will be instrumental in driving the growth of youth employment in Africa through the digital economy, working alongside Genesis colleagues. You will lead consulting projects aimed at identifying job creation opportunities with international BPO and digital outsourcing companies investing in Africa, or supporting African companies to enter the export market, design initiatives to recruit and upskill young Africans to take up these work opportunities, and working with governments to create an enabling policy and regulatory environment. Your expertise in problem solving, strategy, and intervention design, coupled with the utilization of Genesis' problem-solving toolkit, will ensure the successful implementation of projects. Ultimately, your contributions will enable the expansion of income-generating work opportunities for the growing African populations.

Key Requirements

  • Strong consulting background with expertise in scoping, executing, and managing consulting assignments, including business development, team management, and client engagement.
  • Experience in the business process outsourcing (BPO) and IT-enabled services sector, with a deep understanding of the enablers necessary for job creation, such as digital skills development, investment promotion, government incentives, impact sourcing, and infrastructure.
  • Ideally located in one of Genesis' offices (Nairobi, Johannesburg, Lagos, Abidjan, or London), with flexibility for occasional travel and presence at the Johannesburg head office.
  • A minimum of 4-6 years of overall professional experience, including at least 4 years in Management Consulting.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the global business services sector.
  • Master's degree in economics, Law, Development, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Ability to lead and manage small teams.
