We’re looking for a Lead Engineer to join our growing product team. This is a core role where you’ll take ownership of architecture, mentor engineers, and help deliver production-grade GenAI platforms that make a real impact.

That said, if you're an experienced contractor with a strong product mindset, we’re open to discussing freelance engagement options too.

What you’ll be doing

Being a Lead Engineer at Firemind means designing the architecture, supporting a senior team, and writing code when it matters. You’ll help turn ideas into real software that scales, while keeping the team focused and the tech solid. Here’s what that looks like day to day:

• Lead and coach a senior engineering team building real-world AI products
• Define and drive architectural and infrastructure decisions
• Get hands-on when needed to solve complex technical challenges
• Design scalable backends and user-friendly frontends
• Collaborate across product, design, and AI teams to deliver seamless solutions
• Help shape the future of GenAI platforms at a global scale.

You might be a fit if you...

• are a senior or lead-level engineer, either seeking full-time opportunities or freelance projects
• have a product mindset and proven experience owning technical direction
• are comfortable working across React, Node.js, Python, and AWS
• understand distributed systems, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• thrive in collaborative, fast-paced environments
• communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Having atrack record of building AI products/applications in B2B settings is considered as a big plus.
