In 2035, Africa will have the largest workforce in the world and will need to catalyse transformation by empowering its largest untapped resource - its people. ALX and The Room are two brands of the African Leadership Group.

ALX is our training arm, focused on developing skills for the fourth industrial revolution (software engineering, devops, data science, etc.) to ensure that Africa is able to compete effectively as the world undergoes a digital transformation. To cement this, through our legal entity  African Leadership International (ALI), we have signed an agreement to acquire Silicon Valley based Holberton Inc. – a project-based, college alternative educating the next generation of software engineers. This will give us ownership of the advanced technology program that will enable us to provide global organizations access to significant untapped pools of talent that can bridge the growing global shortage of technology talent. Lecor stands for Legal, Compliance and Risk and is the legal arm of African Leadership International. Our mission is to “protect and defend the company”.

We create CATs and TRAPs to control RATs i.e under our legal function we create Contracts, give Advice and monitor Transactions (CATS) for ALI. We ensure compliance by Training our customers (members of the company), conducting Regulatory Assessments and drafting Policies (TRAPS) in order to Keep Risk At Tolerance (RATS).

As Lecorians, we challenge each other with complex tasks and let innovation and creativity run their course. You will own projects and work streams and rotational management roles. We have a strong emphasis on systems and processes in order to optimise for efficiency and we value fun, freedom and feedback!

ABOUT THE ROLE

Function: Team Operations, Experience & Technology

• Mission: Turbocharge the Band’s efficiency through data-driven and customer-obsessed solutions
• Goals:
  • Streamline operations for the delivery of LECOR Products
  • Enable scale and release more team capacity through automation
• Key Activities:
  • Design and build key systems that empower business value creation
  • Support the Band and our fans on how to use our systems
  • Owning the business operations, experience and technology function with the development of each of the team  projects.
  • Evaluate and refine existing systems based on customer and user feedback
• Current Projects:
  • JANIS (Just A Nonconformist Innovative System): Automating Contract Creation, Access and Management (i.e. self-service contract creation, amendment and termination) across the organization with Slack facing interface
  • ALEXANDRIA:  Identification and centralisation of all legal documents in a repository (ergo Alexandria like the Library) and migrating ALEXANDRIA into an automated document and risk management  tool.
  • LECOR Academy: Build internal workflows of our current product offerings (contracts, advice and transactions), onboarding and knowledge management systems (i.e. clear playbooks that enable anyone in the Band deliver on any of the products and services at any given time)
