Role Overview This is a junior-level executive position.
The main purposes being to be an effective team member to the business in the growth and development of business opportunities for the business. Hence one will learn and master intermediate business development roles and undertake sales and marketing tasks with minimal supervision on assignments with standard complexity, including management of time and internal resources.
Job Details
As a Trainee Business Development Executive (BDE) in the marker research division of the ClerkMaster Consulting business, your primary responsibility is driving business growth within the ClerkMaster business. You are expected to:
• Provide business insights that matter to our clients;
• Develop a network of contacts to attract new clients;
• Research new market opportunities and oversee growth projects, making sales;
Education and qualification • Completed tertiary education – Degree in Marketing, Economics, Psychology or Business Management preferred.

Technical skills
• A drive to seek new business. Able to build strong links with the rest of the business
• Excellent networking skills.
• Computer literacy – proficiency on all MS Office packages and ability to master other needed business tools. – Very Important
• Good reporting and data preparation skills. A good command in MS PowerPoint is a must
• Good customer service skills. An orientation for excellence and customer service
• Good Digital Skills (Social media marketing, email and smartphone App fluency)
• Initiative and good decision-making skills
• Sound problem-solving skills. Analytical ability with proven numeracy skills (Skills must be tested).
• Excellent verbal (physical and telephone) and written communication in English and Amharic with internal/external clients using logical reasoning and problem-solving skills including business writing skills

Key outcomes As a Junior Business Development Executive (BDE); you will:
• Identify market opportunities through cold calling, cold selling, gathering such as meetings, networking, exhibitions and conferences and other channels
• Create business development plans and produce reports for management.
• Build and retain existing client base and business by meeting existing and potential clients and building positive relationships
• Liaise with colleagues to develop sales and marketing strategies
• Prepare sales presentations and participating in sales meetings
• Respond to new business opportunities supporting the team through; preparing of sales and marketing decks. Additionally, provide support to the managing partner to produce/arrange support materials in order to win and develop business.
• Prepare accurate costs related to business development projects.
• Prepare and forecasting sales targets and financial growth projections
• Complete timesheets accurately and on time
• Apply basic level of knowledge and understanding of our clients and their business in all interactions with clients. This knowledge includes but is not limited to: Key clients, key stakeholders and their needs; The client’s business and strategy; Client brands and communication activity; Client markets and competitors;
