We are looking for an intern to work on short term assignment (six months) to coordinate the implementation of COVID-19 support program in Malinyi, Ulanga Districts and Dareda hospital.

Place of Assignment: Ifakara, Tanzania (with regular travel to Malinyi and Ulanga, occasionally to Dareda hospital)

Programme Tanzania

Organization in Tanzania focusses on addressing key challenges of Maternal and Neonatal Health as well as Communicable and Non-communicable Diseases at primary care and community level. Organization’s main partners in Tanzania are the Ministry of Health and church authorities. Through this programme, Organization supports health care providers and communities within Morogoro and Manyara Region and shares generated evidence and lessons learnt through policy dialogue at national level. Key interventions aim at increasing the scope and quality of health services (e.g. through capacity building of health workers or innovative approaches) and increased awareness and empowerment of community members.

Organization has received funding to support implementation of a project aiming at prevention of the vulnerable population from avoidable morbidity and mortality due to COVID 19 and support the health systems to prepare and cope with the epidemic.

Under the guidance of a Country Director you will be responsible:

  • Coordinate activities aiming at protecting the front-line health workers which include but not limited to training and follow up
  • Coordinate community related activities aiming at prevention
  • Participating in District level coordination meeting with other stakeholders in the project areas
  • Participate and contribute to the development of monitoring and evaluation performance monitoring plan for all project related activities
  • Analyze project related information and data for internal and external use
  • Ensure the preparation and timely delivery of high-quality project report
  • Perform other project related duties as assigned by the supervisor

Your Profile:

  • Degree in relevant field such as Public Health, Project Management, Business Administration
  • Strong working knowledge of English and Kiswahili (spoken and written)
  • Knowledge in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of development and health programmes (PCM and associated tools)
  • Excellent social and networking skills
  • Team-player with good interpersonal skills.
