Insurance Underwriter

Our Insurance Brokers is expanding, and we are seeking an experienced underwriter to join our growing team at our Dar es salaam office.

You must have extensive knowledge of available insurance products, a passion for sales, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Creating marketing initiatives to attract new clients.

• Meeting with potential clients to discuss their insurance needs.

• Researching all the available policy options for the client.

• Negotiating with underwriters to get the best policy at the best price.

• Presenting policy details to the client and signing the service agreement.

• Processing client accounts.

• Advising clients on risk management initiatives.

• Advising clients on when and how to make a claim on their policy.

• Preparing Periodic reports for CEO

• Updating existing policies.

• Maintaining client relationships.

• Rate renewals, issue and communicate effectively with our Corporate clients to ensure we retain and secure the renewal.

• Chasing pre-renewal policies by email or phone to ensure the renewal can be issued within our service level agreements.

Insurance Underwriter Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Insurance , Finance, Law or business management.

• Proven work experience as an insurance broker.

• A passion for sales.

• In-depth knowledge of insurance products.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Basic knowledge of Smart Policy Insurance Platform

• High-level negotiating skills.

• Attention to detail.
