Responsibilities for Industrial Chemist

• Coordinate with senior management to identify an area of interest
• Through modeling, form hypothetical chemical compounds to attain
• Utilize lab equipment to synthesize compounds
• Keep inventory of all chemicals with zero variance
• Assist fellow chemists with larger projects
• Follow all governmental safety regulations
• Travel to different locations for testing when requested
• Identify improvements that can be made to existing lab processes
• Observe all company and lab safety protocol
• Conduct market research for chemical related products
• Formulate chemicals into  products. Should have knowledge of chemical mixing
• Order Chemicals and other laboratory supplies weekly and keep a close watch on expiration dates to ensure quality control in the lab
• Develop, Improve and customize products, formulas, processes and analytical methods

Qualifications for Industrial Chemist

• Advance Degree (preferred)
• Excellent computational ability
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• An understand of organic, inorganic, physical or biochemistry
• Familiarity with common lab equipment
• Full knowledge of hazardous material disposal laws
• Ability to work safely around hazardous materials
• Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience in scientific research and laboratory work may be advantageous
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
• Good presentation, documentation, and reporting skills
• Strong technical skills
• 3+ years of experience in a laboratory setting
