HR Manager (Tanzania)

 

Reporting to: Managing Director & Cluster HR Director (East Africa)

 

Based: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Direct reports: 7

In this strategic role, you will:

  • Provide critical leadership to support our business in Tanzania – you will be part of the Leadership team including the Managing Director to drive business growth.
  • Be comfortable in a hands-on role, managing HR functions from strategy to implementation.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the HR team to ensure success of the team members.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a relevant discipline.
  • Good network within Tanzania & a successful track record in HR within the country.
  • Proven experience in driving HR strategies and managing a diverse team.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • HR Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives, focusing on talent acquisition, employee development, compensation and benefits, and employee relations.
  • Talent Acquisition & Management: Oversee the recruitment process, ensuring the attraction and selection of top talent. Develop and implement talent management programs to foster employee growth and retention.
  • Employee Relations: Manage employee relations, ensuring a positive and productive work environment. Address employee concerns and grievances, and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Develop and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain employees. Conduct salary benchmarking and ensure pay equity.
  • Performance Management: Implement and manage performance management systems to drive employee performance and achieve business goals. Provide guidance and support to managers on performance-related matters.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations. Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Collaboration with Leadership: Work closely with the leadership team to align HR objectives with overall business strategy, fostering a collaborative environment.
