Job Summary:
• The HR Manager is part of the local management team and reports directly to the General Manager. In this role you lead the Human Resources Department in Dar es Salaam. You steer, implement and/or further develop qualified Human Resources management processes and tools incl. recruitment, training, succession planning, employee relations and compensations & benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the execution & implementation of the regional HR strategy and processes; Short, mid, and long-term planning of Human Resources management activities according to the local management.
• Support the building of capability of the business's management team and facilitate talent management, coaching and development.

• Support the development of a learning and personal growth culture by contributing to ongoing organization development plans and activities.
• Ensure compliance with all legal requirements (e.g. labor law, social security), governmental and other requirements and regulations; ensure timely adaption to all legal changes.
• Manpower planning and set-up job descriptions in alignment with the company.
• Recruitment of qualified candidates from all available resources e.g. external recruitment agencies, ensure onboarding, induction and training of new employees.
• Provide salary packages and incentives, rewards and benefits to ensure retention of competent employees (applying regular bench marking exercises).

• Guarantee efficient payroll and Human Resources controlling and processes.
• Contribute to relevant and effective HR policies in alignment with our standards.
• Provide local employee relations management and support to the business (i.e.disciplinary & grievance actions; interface with local labor representation and public authorities.
• Plan, implement and control the cost budget in the area of responsibility.
• Guide, motivate and develop the subordinates.
• Advise and support the local management team in the area of professional expertise; prepare and deliver studies, projections, analysis in order to enable the management to take business decisions.
• Participate as part of cross functional teams on projects supporting business change and reorganization.

Requirements

• Graduate level with degree in Human Resources, Psychology or other adequate university degree.
• Should have a Masters Degree in related field.
• Excellent experience in increasingly challenging HR generalist roles at a managerial level, preferably in an International business.
• Experience of operating in a fast paced and growing service environment.
• Knowledge of relevant local labor laws (disciplinary, grievance, appeals, redundancies, etc), regulations and institutional requirements.
• Know how to develop and implement HR programs that are driven by business needs.
• Experience in employee/industrial relations.
• Commercially astute.
• Very good communication skills, energy, enthusiasm, intellect, initiative, stamina, determination and resilience to help drive change customer orientation, reliability and confidentiality.
• Assertive and confident.
• Experience in leading and managing people within an HR / Management team.
• Fluency in written & spoken English.
