Reporting Line Manager: Human Resource Manager
Are you a skilled problem-solver with a passion for technology and hands-on work?
Northern Engineering Works Ltd (NEWL) is seeking a dedicated HR Officer to join our dynamic HR team. Successful Candidates for this position will be responsible for recruitment, employee records and supports staff with HR policies, ensuring smooth day-to-day HR operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Onboarding
- Assist in the recruitment process including job postings, screening and interviews.
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs for new hires.
- Maintain and update job descriptions and organizational charts.
 
- Employee Relations & Welfare
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies and procedures.
- Support the resolution of employee grievances and disciplinary matters.
- Oversee staff exit process (clearance, exit interview, terminal benefit preparation)
- Promote a positive workplace culture through employee engagement activities.
- HR Records & Compliance
- Maintain and update employee records in both digital and physical formats/staff filing.
- Ensure all HR processes comply with labor laws and internal policies.
- Assist in preparing reports for audits, compliance reviews, and internal assessments.
- Performance Management
- Support the performance appraisal process, including tracking KPIs and follow-up on performance improvement plans.
- Provide administrative support in the development and implementation of employee development programs.
- Training & Development
- Coordinate training sessions, including scheduling, logistics, and maintaining training records.
- Assist in identifying training needs and compiling training reports.
- Benefits Administration
- Assist with leave management, medical insurance, and other staff welfare programs.
- Process employee payments
- HRIS
- Employee registration and movements in the system.
- Develop HR system reports
- Tracking employee attendance in the biometric system
- Safety Health Environment and Quality (SHEQ)
 
- SHEQ Compliance on all tasks
- Reporting any identified Near miss, Hazards and SHEQ Non conformities to NEWL SHEQ Manager
- To report at least five (5) near miss and one (1) hazard each month
- To ensure no planned work is undertaken without (Field Level Risk Assessment) preparation and communication
- To report any incident/property damage within 24hrs
- Use of Proper PPE’s
- Ensure Journey Management Plan is filled when driving more than 150km’s or 3Hrs
- Ensure Proper Waste Disposal
- Daily Vehicle Inspection
- Attend to Mandatory OSHA Medical Examination
- Timely reporting of Accidents
- Shall cooperate with SHEQ team during occupational incidents and accidents investigation
- Ensure these systems (Dashcam and IVMS) are functional before using the vehicle to comply with SHEQ requirements.
