JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
As the Head of Operations, dnata Zanzibar, you will oversee all aspects of dnata Airport Operations in Zanzibar to ensure the departments’ contractual obligations are delivered to the concerned stakeholders (customer airlines, freight forwarding companies, private companies, government departments) while controlling capital, income and expense budget. To ensure all organisational strategic projects are completed in line with Project Management best practices. Plan, manage and successfully deliver projects, in compliance with the project practices, standards and processes of the Company, or represent the company in other large scale business projects within the Group.

In this role, you will:
• Oversee all operational departments, including Customer Service, Aircraft Appearance, Turnaround, Baggage, Load Control, and Cargo, to ensure safe and cost-effective flight handling.
• Develop and cascade the broad functional strategy for Airport Operations across the business.
• Ensure departmental strategies and strategic plans are developed and implemented effectively.
• Oversee the implementation of policies, systems, and procedures to meet procedural and legislative requirements.
• Manage budget preparation, consolidation, and monitor financial performance versus the budget.
• Maintain high standards of customer service for carriers, private companies, and cargo agents while ensuring efficient service delivery.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal departments and airport agencies for effective coordination and policy compliance.
• Ensure on-time, in-scope, and within-budget delivery of projects, managing them through all stages to meet scope and targets.
• Lead with safety by ensuring compliance with relevant safety policies, holding teams accountable for safety, and fostering a responsible environmental attitude.
• Manage and motivate staff by setting objectives, providing feedback, and facilitating continuous improvement in systems, processes, and practices.

Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this role, you must have:
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma holder.
• 8-10 years of experience in airport operations with a ground handling agent including at least 6 years in a managerial role.
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of Airport Operations, systems and procedures at an international level.
• Knowledge of a variety of project management methodologies and practices and advanced IT and Computer Literacy Skills.
