Position description

The Head of Marketing will be in charge of all DKT Tanzania Marketing activities incorporating all

product lines. He/she will be responsible for developing the marketing strategy with his/her team to

ensure targets are met and surpassed via a winning strategy that creates even greater health impact.

The primary purpose of the position is to accelerate sales by generating demand and awareness in the

market.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Strengthen marketing planning through instilling a consistent P&L discipline to all programs
  • Manage marketing and graphic design team
  • Increase the degree of our data-driven decision making resulting in better consumer and market
  • insight, as well as enhanced use of routine monitoring data
  • Oversee Trade-Marketing, Graphic Design and Digital/Social Media initiatives
  • Leverage technology to update and refresh our marketing mix decisions
  • Manage partnerships with Above the Line Agencies;
  • Directly oversee relationships and Above the Line marketing (radio, press, TV) implementation
  • Drive real operating improvements in Tanzania through direct management of section staff and
  • indirect management of field-based marketing teams
  • Monitor competitor sales prices for each product line,
  • Recommend appropriate commodity prices for each of DKT/T’s products to the CD, taking
  • competitor prices and DKT/T’s landed cost into consideration
  • Plan, implement and manage below the line/ experiential initiatives in order to expand awareness of
  • products in key demographics and geographies

Experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree equivalent International degree in Marketing, Business or Commercial MBA
  • Ten years suitable experience in marketing in a similar sector
  • Previous management experience
  • Strong commercial/business acumen
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and extract trends from data
  • Experience in Health sector and FMCG
  • Proven leadership, with ability to articulate a vision and translate it into reality
  • Good management skills

Key performance Indicators

  • Marketing Return on Investment

Return on investment, or ROI, allows you to measure how much revenue is being generated

by a specific marketing campaign, as compared to the costs of running the campaign.

  • Overall sales Volumes, CYPs, Revenue and profit

Excellent margin management skillset; and ability to focus on specific products generating most impact (whether CYP related / profit related).
