VOLUNTEER GRANTS OFFICER OPPORTUNITY

Who are we?
Mydia-tz is a non-for profit, Non-Governmental Organization aiming at providing opportunities that empowers young people to create positive change through Education, Livelihoods, WASH and Health in Tanzania. Our main goal is enhancing and promoting good living standards to youth in Tanzania.
Our Mission is to bring together initiatives to build capacity, enhance & sensitize youth on sustainable development, and ensure that the voice of a young person is heard across decision-making platforms.

Our Volunteering Opportunities
Mydia-tz capitalizes on the role of human capital in attaining its goals, same as every nation does in order to attain real development. At Mydia-tz, every effort contributed by every person is heart fully appreciated.
We are now inviting applications for a Grants Officer volunteer role from qualified young graduates to work for Mydia-tz. Priority will be given to applicants residing at Kasulu town of Kigoma Region. Preferred qualifications are a Bachelors Degree in the field of Project Planning & Management/Project Management and Business administration.

How many Volunteers are needed and how will they be selected?
One volunteers will finally be selected from the above academic backgrounds. Applications will be assessed against pre-set criteria, and shortlisted applicants will be invited for a formal selection meeting. The finally selected candidates will be offered the chances.

What will Volunteers do?
The ideal candidate for this role should have project management skills, Grants management skills, Fundraisig skills, superior organizational skills, great leadership qualities, and exceptional budgeting and monitoring skills. The outstanding grants officer should re-enforce relationships with donors, ensure that grant programs operate efficiently, streamline grant administration, and keep our organization fiscally sound.

Specific duties:
 Designing grant programs.
 Determining funding needs.
 Researching funding opportunities.
 Reporting to the board of directors.
 Coordinating and engaging with grant writers.
 Identifying support agencies.
 Optimizing the grant administration process.
 Managing timelines and deliverables.
 Preparing and monitoring budgets.
 Tracking grant applications.

Office Offer:
This is a volunteer role. The office will only offer: -
i. Office space with basic furniture to work on.
ii. Activity-specific materials and stationeries.
iii. Internet and communication support for liaison with other stakeholders.
iv. Tea/breakfast
v. Platform for learning (including Employment network support and coaching for interviewing)

Our preference:
Preference will be given to applicants who are residents of Kasulu town, Kigoma region – Tanzania, or those who can accommodate and sustain life themselves in Kasulu town. Qualified women are encouraged to apply.

Other Competencies/Attributes:
 Computer literacy is essential
 Excellent interpersonal skills, proven networking, team-building, organizational and communication skills
 Understanding of the country’s Youth and Economic policies and move is a credit.
 Innovative, flexible, disciplined, goal-oriented and willing to learn.
 Gender and cultural sensitivity is a must.
