JOB DETAILS:
Tasks & Responsibilities:
General:

• To manage the workshop office and be responsible for allocating benches on a daily basis.
• To ensure that the workshop, bench and communal areas are kept clean and organized, introducing new systems where needed.
• To manage the outdoor yard space in terms of allocated working areas, and storage.
• Support members as required.
• To manage workshop storage & deliveries
• To support the rest of the team where needed.

Health & Safety:
• Fire Alarm testing
• Ensure all necessary signage is in place and updated at the workshop.
• Ensure all Risk Assessments are kept updated and drafted where necessary.
• Maintaining tools and machinery to a safe standard and in line with current

Line Management:
• Managing the Weekend Technician and working alongside the Programme
• Technicians to ensure the space is set up to deliver our course and induction
• You will be responsible for scheduling rotas for weekend technicians and arranging holiday cover where needed.

Workshop Maintenance:
• Maintain an inventory of tools and equipment
• Arranging blade & tool sharpening
• Emptying dust extractor units
• Ordering of consumables
• Replacement of equipment where necessary
• To manage waste systems

Building Maintenance:
• Project manage improvements to the workshop
• Fix and maintain all locks, electrics and security issues

Person Specification:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience using wood and metal working equipment and practical experience of fabrication processes, techniques and emerging technologies.
• Experience managing a shared workshop
• A strong aptitude for analytical problem solving
• Significant management skills with the ability to motivate, assess, plan and organize resources
• Good Interpersonal skills and experience in a public facing role
• Working knowledge of safe working practices and equipment used in the areas.

The working hours of the role are Monday – Saturday, 9am – 6pm,
