About the job

What does Playnetic do?

Established in 2023, Playnetic is a new player in the world of gaming entertainment. We design and build slot games from scratch - from idea to release. Our games will be played in regulated markets globally through industry-leading operators.

Our innovative gaming content is centred around our core values: quality gaming, dedicated customer service, and reliable delivery to our partners.

We're currently in a phase of growth and will scale considerably over the next 12 months. As a fully remote studio, we understand the importance of staying connected and maintaining team collaboration. We are continually mindful of this as we grow and have the tools and support in place to help us all flourish.

The Role:

You're a problem solver, a coach, a mentor.

You're the team orchestrator. The person that creates the calm from our storm!

Playnetic's management approach focuses on indirect / servant leadership, as our designers (and everyone else) have a high level of autonomy. You're there to support our designers make good decisions, which ultimately helps them produce their best work.

OK, so you get the point. You've done this before and it is a given that being a good communicator is a part of this role. Here's a breakdown of how we'd describe the core components of this job:

Eyes and Ears: You're always aware of where the designer's heads are at. You can identify and communicate issues as they arise, and you create an open and collaborative environment. You make team members sharing their issues just feel easy.

First Responder: You're ready to step in and support the designers with any issues. Ideally, you will help them solve issues independently or escalate them to the relevant parties. You resolve problems quickly, even in difficult situations. You're just good at getting stuff done!

Values Promoter: It's really important to advocate for and reinforce best practices within the team's workflows naturally. You can understand the reasoning behind practices and priorities and help designers incorporate them effectively.

Coach and Mentor: You manage quarterly and annual goals and salary and career mapping to guide mentoring and training efforts. Drive and support designers in their goal progress on a day-to-day basis, focusing particularly on developing soft skills like autonomy and collaboration.

This is what you're good at

  • You've got a solid grasp of game design across the board, from understanding design theory and psychology to hands-on problem-solving and iterating
  • When it comes to leadership, you've got the knack for guiding teams of autonomous workers. You're more of a supportive service provider than a strict decision-maker
  • You have likely worked in the casino and video slots games world; if not, then we're also open to mobile industry experience!
