Job Title: Finance Manager

Position Overview
Educate!, an award-winning non-profit social enterprise, is on the hunt for an analytical, ethical, and systems-driven Finance Manager with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate will lead financial operations, ensuring sound accounting practices and financial management controls that enable our organization to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments. This role entails supervising a team of two, with direct reporting to the Managing Director.
As the finance lead, you will design and oversee implementation of accounting and control systems, maintain accurate financial records, and support strategic decision-making. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a non-profit setting, is comfortable managing multiple projects, and is skilled at driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Oversight (30%)
• Lead finance and accounting functions, enhancing process efficiency.
• Provide financial insights to guide strategic decision-making.
• Maintain control over general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, and expense reports.
• Ensure compliance with Tanzania Revenue Authority and NGO Board requirements.
• Supervise internal control systems and collaborate with budget owners and operations teams.
Financial Reporting (30%)
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash flows.
• Ensure accurate, timely reporting, supporting audits, and tax return preparation.
• Act as a key liaison with regional finance teams.
Financial Control & Accounting (20%)
• Maintain adherence to Educate! accounting standards and Quickbooks procedures.
• Process financial transactions accurately and maintain a systematic accounting filing system.
• Oversee payroll, revenue, expenses, bank reconciliations, and fixed assets management.
Budget Management (20%)
• Prepare periodic budgets, ensuring clarity for budget managers.
• Share monthly and quarterly budget reports, providing budget variance analysis.
• Facilitate budget-related training sessions for teams.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Commerce.
• Certified CPA (T) and member of NBAA.
• Proficient in MS Excel and Quickbooks.
• 5+ years of finance experience in a non-profit, including audit, reporting, and analysis.
• 3+ years of managerial experience in finance, coordinating audits, and managing budgets.
• Strong analytical skills, with a data-oriented, collaborative approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to drive team learning and improvements independently.
