Fides Tanzania Limited, a premier cut flowers company located near Tengeru, approximately 17km from Arusha town, is excited to announce internship opportunity for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals. As part of the Dümmen Orange global network, Fides Tanzania Ltd offers internships in the following area:
Position: Export Intern
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinating and Monitoring Supply Chain Operations:
• Gain insights into overseeing and ensuring efficient and effective movement of goods.
• Ensure that premises, assets, and communication methods are used effectively.
2. Optimizing Shipping and Transport Procedures:
• Gain experience in utilizing logistics IT systems and efficiently using material and labour resources.
• Monitor and track shipments to provide timely updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
3. Coordination and Work Planning Implementation:
• Coordinate with freight forwarders to arrange transportation of goods, negotiate rates, and ensure on-time delivery.
• Work with customs brokers to ensure compliance with customs regulations.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate preparation of export orders.
• Prepare and manage shipping documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with international trade regulations.
4. Productivity Improvement Advisory:
• Provide suggestions to the supply chain manager on potential improvements in work performance and productivity.
5. Task Verification Techniques:
• Understand the importance of verifying that all tasks are executed according to assigned instructions.
6. Quality Control Management:
• Learn to maintain and update shipping records, tracking systems, and databases.
• Proactively resolve shipping-related issues such as delays, damages, or discrepancies.
7. Staff Monitoring and Reporting Skills:
• Develop skills in monitoring the performance of department staff.
• Learn how to maintain KPIs and generate weekly reports.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, horticulture, or general agriculture from a reputable institution.
• Graduated within the last two years.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Computer literacy, especially in MS Office.
