JOB DETAILS:
Purpose and scope of assignment.
Environmental Lead manage the development and implementation of environmental management systems within project scope by identifying, solving and alleviating environmental issues, such as pollution, waste treatment and environmental risks in compliance with environmental legislation and to ensure project sustainable development.
Job responsibilities
• You are a hands-on team player that understand the practical environmental needs of a marine construction project as well as the document management-related side.
• You take ownership of environmental operational monitoring, advising and performance of the project, together with the Operational team.
• Perform and participate in internal H3SE inspections & audits in line with the internal MS audit & inspection planning.
• To provide training on miscellaneous environmental subject, such as biodiversity, waste management, etc.
• To participate in specific environmental communication and improvement actions in line with the project’s environmental objectives.
• Perform site inspections from mobilization to demobilization.
• To train, guide, coach and follow up site environmental staff.
• To report Key Performance Indicators to the Project’s H3SE Manager and Project Manager/Director.
• Monitoring of Marine Mammals and report accordingly.
• Manage Marine Mammal Observers Team.
• Knowledge in local and international regulations for environmental compliance with IFC requirements
• Competence in leading the monitoring performance of organization as per ISO 14001:2015
• Manage the environmental requirements monitoring for compliance with waste management, pollution prevention, biodiversity protection, environmental sampling, and analysis, etc.
• Manage all aspects of waste management, recycling, treatment, and disposal.
• Manage and record all aspects of environmental.
Job Qualification, Experience and Skills Applicants should demonstrate the following:
• Tanzanian citizenship.
• BSc Environmental Engineering/Science, BA. Geography and Environmental Studies or other related qualifications.
• Knowledge and experience on Marine Biology and Environment will be a plus.
• Minimum 7 years continuous experience.
• Experience or ability to implement IFC Performance Standards.
