Job Function
This position provides the leadership and direction for the daily planning, scheduling and coordination of all maintenance activities in the following areas: building/infrastructure/civil maintenance, yard/wharf maintenance, electrical services, project services. Facilities managers need to be able to attend to multiple concerns involving both workers and their working environment, requiring good organizational and multitasking ability.
Key Performance Areas:
• Responsible for an efficient leadership of the staff, encouraging teamwork and intersectional cooperation.
• Responsible for engineering related service functions such as maintenance and repair planning.
• Monitor the maintenance of premises for office.
• Monitor the maintenance of domestic premises under the supervision of the company.
• Optimizing energy management (produced or provided) used by the company.
• Supervise the daily maintenance of the electricity and water network systems by direct employees.
• Supervise and monitor the daily maintenance of Air Conditioning systems within Buildings and Offices.
• Responsible for day-to-day maintenance of all Terminal Facilities and to ensure that Operations Department is constantly informed of current activities and those activities are performed in a safe and orderly manner.
• Perform control of maintenance works undertaken by Subcontractors as directed.
• Ensuring all building facilities adhere to proper safety standards and cleaning procedures.
• Monitor interior and exterior areas of building for cleanliness and general conservation.
• Inspecting and repairing electrical and plumbing services.
• Undertaking building and grounds maintenance.
• Managing janitorial duties.
• Overseeing refurbishments and renovations.
• Maintain equipment and building provisions to meet health and safety requirements.
• Organize and plan building installments and refurbishments.
• Supervise facilities staff and communicate with external contractors and vendors.
• Keep building and all facilities up to code and accurately follow maintenance protocol.
• Prepare and implement project budgets and timeframes.
• Comply with all health and safety policies and procedures.
• Ensuring facilities are always clean.
• Installing and managing air conditioning services.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Managing waste disposal systems.
Qualifications Required:
• Degree in civil engineering or related field, with professional leadership experience.
Experience and Skills Required:
• 5+ years in facilities management, preferably in ports terminal operation
• Certified Facility Manager (CFM) credential, or equivalent
• Project management skills, planning and maintaining facility budgets
• Good organizational skills.
• Multitasking ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Good time management, attention to details.
• Knowledge of HVAC and other building systems
• Basic understanding of accounting and finance principles
• Great leadership and problem-solving skills
