Job Description

Reporting to: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER 

Competency

Requirements:

  • Degree Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Construction Engineering, or similar.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in engineering design and/ or construction.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD software.
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks 3D CAD Software is essential.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform cost estimation.
  • Ability to engage with clients, senior engineers and managers.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and solve problems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Kiswahili.
  • Knowledge of water supply, wastewater, and drainage design principles.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and computer skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Results oriented.
  • Strong organizational and team working skills.
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills.
  • Focused, committed and self-motivated.

Responsibility:

Assist the Business Development Engineer and sales team in the following:

  • Use AutoCAD software to create drawings of products.
  • Organize and maintain existing engineering records.
  • Ensure components and assemblies adhere to applicable standards.
  • Liaise with clients to identify project requirements.
  • Summarize engineering details into easy to understand outputs.
  • Write technical reports to summarize findings.
  • Assess the usability, environmental impact, and safety of a designs.
  • Undertake complex calculations and cost estimations.
  • Communicate effectively with the clients, colleagues, and contractors.
  • Plan effectively to ensure projects are delivered on time and to standards.
  • Organize and participate in trade shows, exhibitions, conferences and meetings related to the business of Plasco.
  • Work with Plasco design and fabrication teams in developing Weholite products to meet customer requirements.
  • Resolve any issues, complaints, or problems faced by customers.
  • Clients follow-up.

Levels of Authority:

  • Liaise with clients and colleagues on technical requirements.
  • Customers’ site assessment as necessary.
  • Advise Business Development Engineer – Weholite and/or sales team on project design and implementation.

Measurable Outputs:

  • Optimized designs for Weholite-based solutions as per clients’ requirements.
  • Meeting project deadlines.
  • Periodic reports.
  • Customer satisfaction/complaints.

Reporting Mechanisms & Frequencies:

  • Completed designs, drawings, and cost estimations to Business Development Engineer – Weholite
  • Status reports to Business Development Engineer – Weholite
