We are looking for a dynamic and seasoned Deputy Head of Payments in Dodoma, Tanzania to propel business growth and market expansion across multiple countries, supporting our Payments team. This role involves spearheading the development and implementation of payment initiatives, nurturing relationships with key local payment stakeholders, and meeting revenue targets in alignment with company goals. The Deputy Head of Payments will have overall responsibility for the P/L, ensuring optimized payment options.

Your key job responsibilities as the Deputy Head of Payments in Dodoma, Tanzania will include:

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to manage the end-to-end integration and technical delivery of Mobile Payments, USSD, and SMS services.
• Oversee our partner network to ensure timely and proactive support post-integration.
• Maintain service quality throughout the duration of agreements, working with stakeholders during downtimes and service interruptions.
• Expand payment channels by recruiting and integrating new payment providers.
• Build and sustain relationships with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
• Manage contracts and agreements with payment providers, telecom companies, and other partners.
• Conduct in-depth, ad hoc analyses to address ongoing or one-time operational issues.
• Develop actionable and repeatable reports highlighting relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements and formats.
• Construct workflow charts and diagrams, studying system capabilities, and writing specifications.
• Act as the primary contact for Senior Management, Key Account Managers, and Customer Support regarding any payment-related issues.

Requirements

Requirements for this Deputy Head of Payments job in Dodoma, Tanzania:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Highly discreet and trustworthy.
• Extensive experience in risk management, compliance, and regulatory requirements related to payments, with some of this experience in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of managing payment operations and implementing payment solutions in a fast-paced environment, preferably within the online gaming and gambling industry or similar sectors.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
• Ability to delegate effectively, work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of the online gaming and gambling market, including regulatory requirements, customer preferences, and the competitive landscape.
• Relevant certifications in payments, risk management, or compliance are advantageous.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in other local languages is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
