Korfovouni Seedpro Limited in Tanzania is part of the Schoneveld Group the Netherlands. Schoneveld Breeding is specialist in the production and breeding of flowering pot plants.
Korfovouni Seedpro (KSP) is an agricultural company, located in the Arumeru District, near Arusha on the foothills of Mt. Meru (about 2,300 mt). The company is specialized in production and selling Cyclamen, Primula seeds for the company in the Netherlands.
To attain its mission and vision, Korfovouni Seedpro Ltd is seeking to recruit dynamic, experienced, competent and qualified Tanzanian expert to fill below vacant posts (2) within the company.
2.0 Crop Protection In-charge
Do you have a passion for plant health and a knack for managing pests and diseases? We are looking for a Crop Protection In-charge to safeguard our beautiful flower crops through innovative and sustainable pest management practices. If you’re experienced in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and have a deep knowledge of crop protection, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
• Pest & Disease Monitoring: Regularly scout flower crops to detect pests and diseases and implement timely control measures.
• IPM Development: Create and implement effective Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies, using biological, chemical, and cultural methods.
• Pesticide & Fungicide Management: Oversee safe and accurate application of chemicals to protect crops, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Sustainable Practices: Promote eco-friendly solutions and biological controls to minimize environmental impact.
• Training & Support: Provide training to the crop protection team on safe handling and application of pesticides and crop protection strategies.
• Research & Innovation: Conduct trials on new crop protection technologies and solutions to continuously improve farm practices.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all pest control practices comply with local and international safety and environmental standards.
Key Competencies:
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of pests, and diseases management in flower crops, with proficiency in pest control methods and pesticide use.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to diagnose problems, analyze data from monitoring systems, and adjust crop protection strategies accordingly.
• Communication & Collaboration: Strong advisory and training skills, working closely with the plant production and other teams.
• Project & Budget Management: Ability to plan and manage crop protection budgets and resource allocation efficiently.
• Sustainability Focus: Commitment to using sustainable, eco-friendly pest management solutions and minimizing chemical use.
• Continuous Learning: Eager to stay up to date with the latest advancements in crop protection, pest resistance, and sustainability.
Education and experience
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Horticulture, or related field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in crop protection, particularly in flower or horticultural crops.
• Certification in IPM or pesticide Application and knowledge of IPM principles are highly desirable.
