We are seeking a hands-on and highly driven Country Agronomist who shares our enthusiasm for commercial bananas and is committed to improving farm profitability while promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

About the Opportunity: The successful candidate will work with our international team to coordinate various operational responsibilities across different departments. You will assist the Agronomy team with fieldwork, data collection, analysis, and project support, contributing to decision-making processes and delivering actionable insights.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect, encode, and analyze farm data, and prepare reports and documentation.
  • Provide hands-on assistance in various projects related to farm management services in Ikwiriri.
  • Prepare presentations to deliver feedback, recommendations, and challenges to different departments.
  • Work collaboratively within a team, offering support and assistance across all areas as needed.

Qualifications:

  • MSc in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven field and technical experience in relevant farming environments, with a focus on agronomy and mechanical operations.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Swahili and English.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations, formulate technical advice, and combine practical field work with meaningful reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with a proactive and self-directed approach to achieving goals.
  • Passion for large-scale commercial banana farming and sustainable agriculture.
  • Critical thinking abilities, problem-solving skills, and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Knowledge of both organic and conventional farming systems.
  • Experience with GIS mapping tools and soil analysis interpretation is desirable.
