Position: Freelance Content Writer

Contract Duration: 3 Months

Location: Pwani or Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (Office-based)

Salary: TZS 200,000 – 300,000 per month

Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and motivated Freelance Content Writer to join our team in our office located in Pwani or Dar es Salaam. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality, engaging, and informative content on various topics, including educational guides, application processes for colleges, course descriptions, sports news, job opportunities, business news, and general articles. This is a contract-based position for a duration of three months.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Content Creation: Write well-researched, original, and informative articles on a wide range of topics.
2. SEO Optimization: Ensure all content is optimized for search engines (SEO) to increase visibility and drive traffic to our website. Understand and implement search intent including informational, navigational, commercial, and transactional keywords.
3. Research: Conduct thorough research on assigned topics to produce accurate and up-to-date content.
4. Editing and Proofreading: Review and edit content to ensure it is free from grammatical errors and follows the company’s style guide.
5. Collaboration: Work closely with the content manager and other team members to understand content requirements and deliver accordingly.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a content writer or similar role.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills in Swahili and English.
• Strong research skills and ability to produce high-quality content.
• Familiarity with SEO best practices.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Residing in Pwani or Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
• Experience in writing for educational platforms, sports news, job portals, or business news websites.
• Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress.
