Job Description
We are looking for a volunteer Content Creator to write and create engaging media to populate multiple channel outputs, including our website and social media pages. This could include blogs and social media images, short videos, interviews, gifs, and other content pieces which drive traffic to our website and social media platforms.
Responsibilities include:
Research and ideas:
• Research and understand our target audiences and how to create targeted content for them
• Research industry-related topics to produce content on
• Conduct keyword research and use SEO guidelines to optimize content
• Research and share the relevant content of other similar organisations
• Research what king of content is trending on social media
• Propose new and improved outreach ideas
Writing blogs:
• Collaborate with communication manager to turn your ideas for content into clear briefs.
• Write blogs on a range of relevant topics to educate our audience and boost our SEO. Create drafts, edit and proofread accordingly.
• Interview professionals and incorporate their views in blog posts
Social media:
• Create bitesize consumable social media images, videos, photos, blogs etc.
• Use our scheduling app to schedule these into daily content releases
• Promote content on social networks and monitor engagement (e.g. comments and shares)
• Be able to write captions

Evaluation:
• Evaluate the performance of content on website and social media
Skills and Attributes
• Experience creating content for social media
• Familiarity with social media platforms: Twitter, Facebook, Instragram
• Excellent writing and editing skills in English and Kiswahili
• Familiarity with SEO
• Can write captions and slogans that captives audiences and clients
• Flexible and cooperative
• Creative and full of ideas
• Passionate about producing top quality written material
• Pro-active and self-motivated; takes the initiative when making decisions
• Organised, focused, and excited about the idea of helping a charity.
