JOB DETAILS:
Empower, on behalf of REPOA is recruiting for a Communications Officer who will lead the strategic development, implementation and reporting of all communication initiatives. REPOA is an independent research institution which primarily undertakes research on socio-economic development and utilizes the knowledge to facilitate socio economic transformation for inclusive development. In addition to research, the organization undertakes capacity building of the intellectual resource researchers and research users); and facilitate the utilization of research findings by promoting evidence-based dialogue and participating in policy reviews and development

Key Responsibilities
• Formulate, review and monitor implementation of the organization's Communications strategy and related policies and procedures
• Edit all major outputs of the institution, including research reports, special papers project briefs
• Provide communications support to the organization's Executive Director at public events and meetings
• Monitor review and regulate content on the organisations website and other digital media channels
• Coordinate drafting of press releases, and participate in organizing media coverage for events and media training sessions as required
• Provide guidance and support for knowledge management (targeted communication with diverse stakeholders
• Provide inputs to strategic, annual planning and budgeting, including budget reviews and reporting as required.

Qualifications
• Master's degree in Journalism or Mass Communication
• Qualifications in Law, Economics or Business Studies will be an added advantage
• 3 years' experience in the same or similar role . Strong writing skills
