Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Behavioural Change Manager (BCC), the Communications and Public Relations officer is responsible for communication with different target audiences including clients, journalists and the community. S/he serves as adviser to other employees on communication tasks and help to build a positive reputation for the Association to the wider public.

  • Minimum Qualification: Bachelor

Job Description

Reporting to: Behavioural Change Manager (BCC)

Responsibilities

  • Planning, developing and implementing Communications and PR strategies
  • Ensure building up and sustenance of good relationships between the Association and its clients through planned publicity awareness campaigns and PR activities
  • Research on the perceptions and attitudes of clients/stakeholders for development of effective communication programs
  • Analyzing coverage and tracking emerging issues through Association’s website
  • Assist with preparing Association’s documents such as annual reports, profiles and submissions
  • Assist in planning, developing and managing brand identity
  • Collating and analyzing media coverage for effective publicity
  • Assist the Preparation and the production of publicity brochures, handouts, promotional materials, photographs, multimedia programs and archiving (records keeping)
  • Organizing events including press conferences, exhibitions, open days and press tours and documentation of whole process and results
  • Maintaining and updating information on the Association’s website
  • Liaise with Resource Mobilization department to advocate ACI campaigns to Volunteers,staff and development partners
  • Performing other related duties as may be required

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications, social studies
  • At least 2 years working experience in the field
