JOB DETAILS:

• Job Summary:
• We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our electricity-based projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
• Analyse and assess the impact of the electrical infrastructure on the surrounding environment and communities, and make recommendations to minimize negative impacts.
• Ensure that all electrical infrastructure designs meet regulatory and safety standards, and adhere to all relevant codes and standards.
• Manage construction projects, including overseeing contractors, coordinating with other engineering disciplines, and ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget.
• Perform site visits and inspections to ensure that construction work is carried out according to design specifications and quality standards.
• Identify potential design and construction issues, and work with other engineering disciplines to resolve them.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including design plans, construction records, and project reports.
• Design and oversee construction of infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, regulations
• Develop plans and specifications for construction, including cost estimates and timelines
• Conduct site investigations and surveys to determine project requirements and feasibility
• Analyse data and perform calculations to determine project requirements, such as load-bearing capacity and structural stability
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure successful project outcomes
• Monitor project progress and performance to ensure adherence to timelines and budgets
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of project activities, including budgets, schedules, and construction progress
• Perform safety inspections and identify potential hazards, ensuring compliance with safety standards

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering
• Previous Experience in a Tanesco Related project is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and methods.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and other engineering software
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to work in outdoor environments, including construction sites
• Must be able to lift and carry equipment.
• Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding as needed
• Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights

Requirements:

• Experience working with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other engineering software.
