Gaming Board of Tanzania (GBT) Job Vacancy – February 2025
The Gaming Board of Tanzania (GBT) is a public gaming regulatory institution established under the Gaming Act No. 4 of 2003. Its primary functions are to oversee, monitor, and regulate gaming activities in Tanzania. GBT is seeking to recruit a qualified and competent Tanzanian to fill the following job position:
1. Chief Internal Auditor
1.1. Qualifications:
- Holder of a Master’s Degree in one of the following fields: Auditing, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration (majoring in Accounts or Finance) or equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions.
- At least ten (10) years of working experience, with two (2) years in a managerial position.
- Must possess either CPA (T), ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or its equivalent as recognized by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors.
- Registered as Associate Certified Public Accountant or Certified Public Accountant in Public Practice.
1.2. Duties:
- Head the Internal Audit Unit.
- Plan, manage, direct, control, and coordinate all audit functions.
- Formulate and present internal audit policies to the Board of Directors for approval, in line with GBT’s regulatory functions.
- Assess potential risk factors and recommend appropriate control measures.
- Prepare and implement an internal audit plan that ensures quality assurance.
- Review and advise on the compliance of operations with relevant laws and GBT policies.
- Validate whether business processes and results of operations are consistent with the established and approved budget.
- Review accounting records and supporting documents to ensure compliance with accounting policies and financial regulations.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal control systems and recommend improvements.
- Identify and recommend policies to ensure that GBT assets are properly accounted for and safeguarded.
- Prepare and submit periodic audit reports to the Board of Directors.
- Conduct and supervise special investigations.
- Mentor, coach, and counsel subordinate staff.
- Undertake other relevant duties as assigned by the Board of Directors or Director General.
1.3. Remunerations:
Attractive remuneration will be offered to the successful candidate as per the GBT’s Salary Scale.
1.4. General Conditions:
- The applicant must be a Tanzanian citizen.

- Certified copies of academic certificates relevant to the respective position must be attached.
- Certificates from foreign examination bodies for Ordinary or Advanced level education should be verified by the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA).
- Professional certificates from foreign universities and other training institutions should be verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) and the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE).
