Created in 2014, this business is a FinTech aggregator of digital and payment services. The business is based in Senegal with subsidiaries in 12 African countries. We’re looking for an experienced Business Developer to join their agile and growing team. The business takes pride in having more than 30,000 distribution points using their platform, and more than 800 corporate customers have integrated their solutions.

A Bit About The Role

The business is seeking a Business Developer, who can take charge of building market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships. You would need to be passionate about working in the start-up space. Adaptability and fast thinking is key to success in this role.

Requirements

Your daily adventures include:

  • Developing the local market for the business
  • Acquiring structured networks and ensuring the sales of the business’s products in those networks
  • Building business cases to support the implementation of each service
  • Acquiring new segments of businesses outside the business
  • Developing innovative and growth strategy processes for business development
  • Representing the business’s vision and values
  • Developing activities to strengthen business relationships with partners
  • Actively participating in all business events at all pilot stages and full roll-out
  • Building high-level presentations for each partner before their launch in the business’s network
  • Develop teamwork spirit and work well with other departments so as to achieve organizations business goals
  • Marketing research and research on the business opportunities and viable income streams
  • Report writing and business proposal writing
  • Business Development projections
  • Negotiating with stakeholders
  • Progress reports on the acquired customers and business progress
  • To generate relevant monthly reports that pertain the business development department as a whole
  • Identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs

What It Takes To Succeed

  • Undergraduate degree in a business related field, (e.g. sales and marketing.)
  • At least 5 years of Business Development working experience
  • Bilingual (French/English) an added advantage
  • Proficiency in reporting tools
  • Commercial mindset
  • Good knowledge of financial services and/or bank, Telco and Fintech industry
  • Good knowledge of distribution networks
  • Ability to cope with failure and stress
  • Listening skills, leadership
  • Autonomous, able to take initiatives, and rigorous
  • Team player
