Africa Grant Advisors (AGA) is Africa's premier fundraising consultancy. We specialize in helping private companies build partnerships with donors and governments in Africa. We work primarily in the energy, agriculture, manufacturing, and fintech sectors. AGA has helped firms in 13 countries in Africa plan significant expansion projects and raise over $100 million in grants, debt, and equity. We also assist our clients with building productive relationships with relevant government officials, specifically in the off-grid energy sector.

AGA is seeking an Associate Consultant to join its Dar es Salaam, Tanzania office. Candidates should have consulting experience, and excellent writing, finance, and research skills. The position is junior level and we are ideally looking for a candidate with 2-4 years of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate funding opportunities, investors, and other potential strategic initiatives for clients and prospective clients
• Support client fundraising by developing proposals, business plans, financial models, pitch decks, and related materials
• Advise clients on financial and strategic initiatives
• Support advocacy with the Government of Tanzania by reviewing policy and regulations, drafting presentations and letters, and liaising with key stakeholders
• Assist clients with fund management, including systems analysis and design, investor and donor reporting, and change management support
• Research potential candidates for investment and funding opportunities
• Develop new business relationships for AGA through prospect research, communications, and networking

Qualifications

• Tanzanian national
• Business or development consulting experience
• Excellent writing skills
• Excellent research and analysis skills
• Living in or willing to relocate to Dar es Salaam
• Degree in economics, finance, business administration or closely related fields, or financial modeling experience (preferred)
