PURPOSE OF ROLE

To supervise and provide high quality medical care and support to the medical department and Lipton Teas and Infusions Tanzania Limited.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Quality

•    Implementation of Medical ethics and standards as per Tanganyika Medical Board.
•    Attending patients at OPD/Clinics
•    Performing clinical ward round
•    Coordinating major ward rounds every Wednesday for special cases.
•    Supervise hospital laboratory services including complying to IPC and legal standards.
•    Coordinate and supervise medical examinations across the company in collaboration with OSHA /unit /estate managers.
•    Attending all hospital clinical, management, excellency, mortality, and CME meetings.
•    Ensure Electrocution drills are done to all estates /factories with AED.
•    Any other specific tasks that may be assigned to you by Line manager /Country General manager.
•    Performing elective and emergency surgical operations.
•    Support Medical Department on quality care of customers.
•    Advising Medical and Occupational health Manager on planning of future policies of the Medical Department concerning development, treatment schedules, outpatients Administration, Reproductive and Child Health, Dispensaries and Occupational Health
•    Assist Medical and Occupational health Manager on planning and administration.

Policy

•    Implementation of Company defined Polices, Procedures, Programs and Systems allowing the unit/Department to meet the company commitment on Occupational Health, Safety environment care and consumer safety.

 

Planning
•    Regular supervisory visits to dispensaries and health center to maintain and standardize quality medical services.
•    Supervise pharmacy and dispensaries to ensure balanced drug stocks.

Training
•    Selection, training, and development of all medical staff, including medical personnel in the Estates/Factories.

 

Production
•    Implement Good Medical practices in all Customers in Hospital
•    Assist the Medical Department in cost reduction by proper use of medicines.

 

Culture Change

•    Maintain the Good image of the company internally, externally and to the public by supervision of cooperate social responsibility projects like the care and treatment clinic, male circumcision clinics.

Stocks & Assets
•    Responsible for the company assets in the unit of responsibility.

 

Projects
•    Implement projects as agreed with Line manager.
•    Implementation and follow up on improvement ideas from units and share best practice.

 

Finance, Logistics & Supplies
•    Take part in financial administration of Medical Department including hospital fees, referral claims, medical staff/sub staff pay rolls and dependant card system.
•    Facilitate the SHIB exercise across the Lipton Teas and Infusions Tanzania Limited to increase income.

People
•    Implements employee establishment in QA.
•    To facilitate implementation of all company policies, regulations, guidelines, and standards such as social, financial and Lipton’s Code of Business Principles among others.

 

Safety, Health & Environment & RA
•    Implement Safety, Health & Environmental management systems as per Lipton’s standards and legislation within the area of responsibility.
•    Proactive identification of hazards through Safety Behavioral Observation (SBOs) or environmental aspects and putting in place effective safeguards aiming at eliminating /reduction of accidents or incidents.
•    Coordinate implementation of standard operating procedures in Medical Department.

Welfare
•    Implement agreed welfare programmes and attend planned meetings ensuring completion of agreed actions.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

•    Degree in Clinical Medicine or related field
•    2 to 3 years’ experience in medical profession
•    Experience in people management
•    Hospital management skills
•    Medical practitioner
•    Sourcing medical equipment, drugs, and materials.
•    Quality assurance
•    Assets investment
