Tanganyika Plywood LTD (TPL) produces plywood for local and regional markets in East Africa using sustainable plantation materials, specifically eucalyptus and pine. Operating for 8 years, TPL is now seeking a dedicated Assistant HR Officer to support its growth objectives. The company is located in Mafinga, with its plant in Mgololo-Mufindi, Tanzania. This is a full-time position based at the Mgololo site.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant HR Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will support the HR functions within our manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient operations and compliance with company policies. This role involves working closely with various departments to maintain accurate employee records and implement best HR practices.

Job Type: Full Time Contract
Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Manage the full-cycle recruitment process including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and hiring.
  2. Maintain compliance with all employment laws, guidelines, policies and regulations.
  3. Prepare and submit required reports and documentation.
  4. Coordinate and facilitate Employee training programs.
  5. Implement and monitor health and safety policies.
  6. Manage day-to-day HR tasks such as staff attendance, payroll, leave management, advance requests, and loan requests and employee records
  7. Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, complaints, terminations, and investigations.
  8. Review and update and implement company policies and procedures.
  9. Schedule and conduct Employees’ performance reviews
  10. Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by top management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  1. Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
