JOB DETAILS:
Position: Assistant Camp Manager
Reports to: Camp Manager

Wilderness Wayo Limited is a prominent player in the tourism industry in Tanzania, specializing in providing unique and authentic safari experiences. We operate a number of high-end camps in the Northern safari circuit in Tanzania. We operate a substantial DMC service, travel shop and activity department. We also run a large community and conservation initiative where positive tourism aids in the betterment to the lives of people and wildlife. Wilderness Wayo Ltd is one of the leading and most respected safari and camp operators in Tanzania.

As an Assistant Camp Manager, your pivotal role is to support the camp manager in establishing and implementing Company’s objectives by administering policies and procedures. Assist and participate to the packing, move and setup of camp.

Primary roles
• Analyze areas and departments in need of support
• Implement controls and reporting tools to ensure procedures are in place and followed
• To implement systems and procedures of the Company into Camps

• To assist training junior staffs in new system and procedures

• To assist managing Logistics and Camp department staff by implementing work schedules and leave schedules.
• To schedule and organize guests’ activities (game drives, walks, sundowners, airport pickups and transfers)

• To schedule and organize camp movement in coordination with moving crew
• To assist in setting up camp
• To relieve camp manager from duty when necessary
• To handle Company money responsibly ensuring it is used as per specific Company requirements.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• Certificate in Tourism Management or equivalent.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience within the hospitality industry.
• Experience in handling international guests and seasoned travellers will give an added advantage.
• Basic Wine and other Beverages drinks knowledge.
