MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in agricultural management, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong knowledge of crop cultivation techniques, including planting, pruning, and pest management.
- Familiarity with farm equipment and machinery, including maintenance and repair procedures.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to improve farm operations.
- Commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship in agricultural practices.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Flexibility to work long hours and weekends during peak farming seasons.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Plan and coordinate planting schedules, ensuring optimal timing and distribution of crops.
- Supervise and participate in pruning activities to maximize crop yield and quality.
- Manage farm maintenance activities, including equipment upkeep, irrigation systems, and infrastructure repairs.
- Oversee bagging and de-flowering operations to ensure efficient processing and packaging of harvested crops.
- Implement de-leafing and weed control strategies to maintain crop health and minimize competition for resources.
- Coordinate after-harvest clean-up efforts to maintain a clean and organized farm environment.
- Monitor and manage labor resources to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and according to schedule.
- Collaborate with agricultural experts and researchers to implement innovative farming techniques and technologies.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Keep detailed records of crop yields, expenses, and operational activities for analysis and reporting purposes.
- Continuously evaluate and improve farming practices to optimize productivity, sustainability, and profitability.
