DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES | i.Control to crop and plant pests; ii.Collecting weekly and monthly crop price statistics; iii. Collect weekly market / monthly supply data; iv. Conduct training of agricultural experts; v. Conducting quality inspections and use of inputs and tools; vi. Monitoring of market commodity market trends; vii. Conduct training on better soil and water conservation; viii. Provide information on new technologies to stakeholders; ix.Preparing / writing implementation reports for the sub-crop sector; x.Managing / developing the profession of production of vegetables, fruits, flowers and other crops; xi. Managing / developing quality seed production; xii.Preparing, preparing for packing and distributing quality seeds; xiii. Conducting disease tests on seeds; xiv. Conduct inspection of new seeds in collaboration with seed researchers before approval; xv. Conduct training to produce vegetables, fruits, flowers and spices; xvi. Encourage the production of horticultural products; xvii. Conducting a small study of crops suitable for cultivation in the area of irrigated agriculture; xviii. Conducting soil research; xix. Encouraging the establishment of farmer / irrigation groups; xx. Producing basic seeds after they have been produced by researchers; and xxi. Operating / managing seed testing and laboratory testing laboratories to eliminate seed contamination. |
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE | Employees with a degree in Agriculture or a degree in Science who have established themselves in the field of agriculture from Sokoine Agricultural University or other Government Recognized Colleges. |
