| DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES | i. Collaborate with researchers to run experimental farms; ii. Collecting / storing experimental data; iii. To teach farmers the best farming techniques; iv. Communicating research findings to farmers; v. Educate farmers on best agricultural practices, use of fertilizers and pesticides, agricultural inputs; vi. Collect and maintain crop and price statistics for weekly, quarterly and annual Council level; vii. Collecting rain data; viii. Participate in agricultural surveys; ix. Collaborate with farmer groups on problems and appropriate technology to use; x. Production planning; xi. Testing seed germination and supervising inspection procedures; xii. Identify input suppliers; xiii. Provide nutrition training to farmers; xiv. Perform quality, moisture and seed germination tests; xv. Control of crop and plant pests; xvi. Supervise daily agricultural experimental activities; xvii. Educate farmers on efficient use of soil and water; xviii. Provide hybrid farming advice; xix. Prepare by-laws for environmental protection; and xx. Provide professional production of vegetables, fruits, flowers and spices. |
| QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE | Employees of Form Six (VI) graduates with agricultural diplomas from Government recognized colleges. |
