Description

Santa Germana Academy is offering a unique internship/Volunteering opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to gain practical experience in the day-to-day operations of an educational institution. This role provides a comprehensive overview of both administrative management and financial accounting.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
The intern will perform a variety of tasks under the guidance of the school administration and accounting team, with a focus on learning and professional development.

 

Administrative Duties:

 

Assist in managing the school’s front office, including greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and handling general inquiries from parents, students, and staff.

 

Help maintain and organize student and staff records, including personal files, attendance, and academic reports, ensuring all information is accurate and confidential.

 

Assist with drafting and distributing official school communications, such as notices, memos, and newsletters.

 

Support the management of school supplies, including monitoring inventory, processing orders, and ensuring resources are available for teachers and staff.

 

Accounting Duties:

 

Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including data entry for tuition fees, expenses, and donations.

 

Support the processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports, ensuring proper documentation and authorization.

Learn and assist with basic bank and ledger reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.

 

Help with the preparation of financial reports and summaries for internal review.

Maintain an organized and accessible filing system for all financial documents, receipts, and invoices.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • recently graduated with a diploma or degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and an excellent attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles is a significant advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive, professional, and positive attitude.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
