Objective:

Q-Sourcing Limited, trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec, is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan, Rwanda and Tanzania.

On behalf of our client, Q-Sourcing Tanzania Limited is looking for a skilled and reliable Electrical Technician to join the maintenance department, whose duties will include being responsible for the maintenance and repair of all electrical items, and ensuring that the facility remains in operating form. His/her daily tasks will vary day-to-day based on what is in need of attention at the time, but will frequently include repairs, aesthetic work and/ or tending to the facility’s machinery.  A hard-working, with outstanding problem-solving abilities, excellent physical stamina, and strong technical knowledge are all important characteristics of the successful candidate we are seeking.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform all maintenance works assigned by the Electrical Engineer.
  • Perform all Preventive Maintenance works as per the schedule of works.
  • Maintain correct reserve prices for the items purchased and regularize with Finance.
  • Ensure timely closure of breakdowns in the most cost effective manner.
  • Perform maintenance works as per laid out engineering standards and procedures.
  • Coach servicemen and staff to ensure proper knowledge on use of our equipment and facilitate quick fixes as well as proper reporting and raising of engineering concerns.
  • Recommend to the Maintenance and Projects Supervisor spares and equipment of desired functionality and quality.
  • Maintain a well-stocked tool box and usable equipment at all times.
  • Maintain agreed levels of consumable parts and work tools.
  • Maintain record of all works done.
  • Communicate branding material faults and follow closure of the same to maintain brand respect and communication.
  • Raise / close all non-conformances at site.
  • Attend departmental meetings and participate constructively.
  • Attend to any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skill

  • Minimum of completed diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering of any other related field
  • Experience with electrical systems required (at least 2-3 years)
  • Excellent experience with power tools
  • Familiarity with unit layouts and infrastructures
  • Ability to communicate and work well with management and staff
  • Willingness to maintain company standards for safety and efficiency
