About the job

Introduction:

Access to clean and safe water has a significant impact on communities. It frees up time for

women and children who would otherwise spend hours collecting water. With time freed up,

women take more prominent roles in their communities, children focus on their education,

and families engage in agriculture and other income-generating activities. Additionally,

access to clean water reduces the incidence of waterborne illnesses, improving the overall

health of the community.

Wine to Water Tanzania is making a positive impact in the region by working with multiple

schools through our Water4Schools program, collaborating with a ceramic filter factory, and

engaging with local teams towards community water systems like wells and aqueducts.

Position: Field Officers (2 positions)

Location: Arusha - Tanzania

Education/Professional Background:

Diploma or Bachelors in Social Science, Sociology, Community Development, Project

Planning with two years of relevant working experience in WASH programs in rural and

remote areas.

Experience:

● 2 years of proven WASH experience in the field, especially in hygiene promotional

activity;

● Proven experience of managing a hygiene promotion program;

● Experience in IEC/ BCC materials development and training materials will be added

advantage;

● Proven experience in conducting training and capacity building related activities of

beneficiaries in remote areas.

● Proven experience on mobile based apps survey and information collection

Required Competencies & Skills:

● Ability to communicate with people in the local language.

● Computer skills (MS word and excel) and mobile base apps.

● Good interpersonal and communication skills

● Willing to work in remote areas

Key Responsibilities:

● Play key role in the filter distribution and management

● To empower the community through social mobilization.

● Facilitate Focus Group Discussion and identify the community need and impacts of

the water scheme related to WASH.

● To help facilitate and conduct community assessments.

● Facilitate various kinds of training related to WASH and empower community

members to improve their quality of healthy life.

● Responsible for weekly/daily reporting to direct supervisor about the progress..

● Coordinate hygiene promotion activities with other line agencies in order to

integrate activities in the same geographical area and for the same beneficiaries

● Participation in all coordination meetings, prepare minutes of meetings.

● Assisting direct supervisor in conducting various kinds of training, workshops, and

door to door surveys at all levels.

● Participation in all community meetings and assist WUSC in preparing minutes of a

meeting.

● Promote a sense of ownership among the beneficiaries through community

engagement activities.

● Any other duties assigned by Wine to Water and/or line manager as per

requirement..
