Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Accountant at VIVA Towers in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing tenant invoicing, managing vendor payments, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. The role also involves preparing monthly reports, reconciling bank accounts, and coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations. Close collaboration with the Marketing and Administration team is essential to ensure tenant-related charges and lease records are properly reflected. This position requires strong attention to detail, solid accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

Proficiency in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and bank reconciliations

Experience in tenant invoicing, billing cycles, and debt follow-ups

Familiarity with accounting software and digital recordkeeping systems

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for coordination across departments

Ability to manage multiple financial tasks in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge of Tanzanian tax regulations and statutory compliance

Prior experience in the real estate or property management industry is an advantage

Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Must speak English, Gujarati and Swahili fluently

Must be Tanzanian Citizen
