Job Details

We are currently recruiting for a Sales Director Dental covering selected territories within the EMEA region.

The role will have a designated revenue number, markets and customers and good opportunities to grow.

Maintenance of performing existing relationships is also a key component to ensure a sustainable level of revenue continues to be generated.

On a day-to-day basis, expect to be in close contact with representations from distributing partners of different sizes, boardroom to fieldwork, supporting them with established products, and driving new product launches when required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop sales strategies. Create and implement comprehensive sales strategies that align with the company’s overall business objective including the sales and profit targets. Implement the marketing strategy.
  • Partnership with Category Director and Marketing leadership on supporting forward strategy
  • Introduce and expand the AMS dental product range. Launch new products
  • Organise and participate in international events, congresses and workshops.
  • Act as company’s product expert at industry exhibitions, training events and in support of the general growth of the brand and category.
  • Work closely with management and marketing teams to ensure awareness of opportunity and involvement.
  • Work closely with distribution partners and ensure focus on AMS branded products.
  • Identify strategic accounts that lead to sustainable and profitable sales partners for AMS
  • Support and develop existing distribution partner and their sales representatives through field rides, training events and consistent clear communication.
  • Establish and maintain contact with opinion leaders (KOLs) in the dental industry; build an international KOL network together with marketing.
  • Collect, analyse and report competitive information to management and marketing relaying new product ideas and product extensions to management/R&D for evaluation
  • Prepare business plans
  • Set pricing according to local market opportunities (within limits set via Finance and Senior Management).
  • Prepare and deliver on-time reports including but not limited to: monthly sales forecasts, monthly reports, field ride report
  • Maintain relationships and hands-on selling approach with important end-users and distributors
  • Assign annual sales goals and projections within geography based on overall goals
  • Meet monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals established by company
  • Lead a small sales team
  • Conduct performance reviews
  • Proactively coordinate effective communication flow within team and category
  • Follow and enforce all corporate policies
  • A high volume of travel is required (up to 40%) as you uncover new partnerships as well as building and maintaining relationships with our existing partners.

What we're looking for?

  • Educated to Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent – preferably in dental or related Science and/or business field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the dental industry; previous experience in selling biosurgical devices and/or surgical sutures would be advantageous.
  • Minimum 5y experience leading a team of sales professionals
  • History of B2B selling success across EMEA and ideally also US
  • Experience of Distributor Management - existing network desirable
  • Has developed accounts through strategic long term partnerships
  • Ability to influence strategy and ensure share of voice of partners
  • Experience with Private Labels, contract management
  • Ability to influence an outcome and make decisions with consideration to business impact for both current and future opportunities
  • Self motivation and hungry for success; “can-do” approach; ability to work independently
  • A passion for driving results through a team
  • Being commercially astute in managing partnerships to maximize profitability of AMS portfolio.
  • Time management and strong communication/presentation skills; ability to communicate technical and medical information simply and concisely
  • Microsoft Office Literate.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English; additional language skills very welcome
  • Previous experience with sutures, hemostats and/or bone substitutes desirable
  • Experience of working with matrix organisations preferred
